1. Who is the lecturer?　講師は誰ですか。

I am the founder of Kadoya Academic and have more than 20 years of experience teaching Japanese in Belgium. I have taught at adult education centres and universities, and I will personally teach all classes. For more information about my background, please visit my LinkedIn profile.

2. How much is the tuition fee?　授業料はいくらですか。

Each semester consists of 18 lessons (36 hours). The tuition fee is €300 per semester (VAT exempt), which is equivalent to approximately €8.30 per hour.
The tuition fee is based on the fees charged for language courses at adult education centres in Belgium, while keeping the course affordable and sustainable.
The tuition fee must be paid before the semester begins.

授業料は、ベルギーの成人学校で開講されている語学講座の授業料を基準として設定しています。授業開始前までに一括でお支払いください。

3. Why is the tuition fee so affordable?　授業料はなぜ比較的安いのですか。。

Compared with many private Japanese language courses in Belgium and the Netherlands, Kadoya Academic offers excellent value.
Our tuition fee is based on the fees charged by adult education centres in Belgium. Our goal is not only to teach Japanese, but also to provide high-quality Japanese language education that remains accessible to as many learners as possible.

4. How many students are in each class?　１クラスの人数は何人ですか。

Classes normally start with six or more students and are limited to twelve students to ensure that everyone has enough opportunities to speak.

原則として 6名以上で開講 し、定員は12名です。一人ひとりが十分に発話練習できるよう、少人数制で授業を行います。

5. Is there a placement test?　クラス分けテストはありますか。

Yes. Students with previous Japanese language experience are asked to take an online placement test.
The results help us place students in a class at the appropriate level.

6. Do you offer beginners' classes?　初心者クラスはありますか。

Yes. A First-year course is offered every year for complete beginners. No previous knowledge of Japanese is required.

あります。毎年、日本語を初めて学ぶ方向けの1年生クラスを開講しています。日本語の知識は一切必要ありません。

7. What will I learn?　どのような力が身につきますか。

The course is designed to help you build a solid foundation in Japanese grammar and develop the ability to communicate in simple everyday situations.
By the end of the course, you will be able to understand basic Japanese, have simple conversations, and continue studying Japanese with confidence.

本講座では、日本語文法の基礎を学びながら、日常生活で簡単な会話ができる力を身につけることを目標としています。
基礎的な日本語を理解し、簡単なコミュニケーションができるようになるとともに、その後の学習へ自信を持って進める土台を築きます。

8. When are the classes held?　開講日・時間はいつですか。

Please refer to the timetable below. All times are shown in Central European Time (CET/CEST).

9. Can I try a lesson before enrolling?

Yes. You are welcome to join one lesson free of charge as a trial. This gives you the opportunity to experience the class atmosphere and teaching style before deciding whether to enroll. There is no obligation to continue after the trial lesson.

はい。初回に限り、無料で授業を体験していただけます。実際の授業の雰囲気や進め方をご確認いただいたうえで、受講するかどうかをご判断ください。体験授業のみの参加でも問題ありません。

10. When does the course start?　授業はいつ開始しますか。

New courses normally begin in September and February.
Students are expected to join at the beginning of a semester. Joining after the course has started may be possible in exceptional cases if the teacher considers it appropriate.

授業は通常、9月 と 2月 に開講します。
原則として学期の開始時から受講していただきます。ただし、学習状況によっては途中参加が可能な場合もあります。

11. Which textbooks do you use?　教科書は何を使いますか。

We mainly use Genki for grammar and reading, and Irodori for listening and speaking practice. Students are responsible for purchasing Genki, while Irodori is available free of charge.

文法・読解には 『Genki』 を、聴解・会話には 『いろどり』 を使用します。『Genki』は各自でご購入いただきます。『いろどり』は無料で利用できます。

12. Where is the classroom?　教室はどこですか。

Your classroom is your own home.
All lessons are conducted online via Microsoft Teams, so you can study comfortably from wherever you have an internet connection.

教室は、あなたのご自宅です。
授業はすべて Google Meet を利用したオンライン形式で行います。インターネット環境があれば、ご自宅などお好きな場所から受講できます。

13. Are there school holidays?　休日はありますか。

There are two semesters each year. There are no regular lessons during the summer break (July–August) or the winter break between semesters.
The detailed academic calendar is announced before each semester begins.

1年を2学期制で運営しています。夏休み（7〜8月）および学期間の休暇中は授業はありません。

14. Can I get a refund if I cannot attend a lesson?　欠席した場合、授業料は返金されますか。

Tuition fees are generally non-refundable once the semester has begun. If you miss a lesson, you can watch the recorded lesson for review.
Exceptions may be considered in unavoidable circumstances.

授業開始後の授業料は、原則として返金できません。欠席された場合は、授業録画をご覧いただけます。
やむを得ない事情がある場合には、個別に対応を検討します。

15. Do you hold regular exams?　定期試験はありますか。

No. Kadoya Academic does not conduct formal examinations. Our focus is on continuous learning and practical communication rather than testing.

16. Do you issue certificates?　修了証は発行されますか。

No. We do not currently issue officially recognised certificates.
